The learning organisation at Extia Ingénierie : our continuous development model
2026-06-14
At Extia Ingénierie, we firmly believe that the success of our industrial and technical projects is directly driven by the fulfilment of our teams. True to our motto, “Who First, What Next”, we place people at the heart of our development strategy by co-creating meaningful career paths. This vision has enabled us to achieve 1st place in the Great Place To Work® France 2026 ranking! To support the growth and development of our talents (the Extiens), we rely on our learning engineering approach through our training offer: RUBIX.
Field experience (70%): the true driver of our growth
Our approach to learning is based on the 70/20/10 learning model. Within this framework, 70% of skill development comes directly from hands-on experience and immersion in real-life situations.
A passion for our engineering projects: every month, we assess our engineers’ engagement and their satisfaction with their assignments through a dedicated internal tracking tool: the “CRA weather report” (Activity Report).
Mobility as a springboard: professional growth comes through movement! This is why we regularly encourage our consultants to take on new projects. Geographical mobility is also made easier thanks to our network of 10 offices, all created through the entrepreneurial initiatives of our teams.
Autonomy and the right to make mistakes: we foster an environment that encourages empowerment and job crafting. Each employee has the opportunity to shape their role in line with their values, while knowing that mistakes are seen as an essential step towards technical excellence.
Collective intelligence (20%): growing through collaboration
We believe that 20% of our learning comes from collaboration. These interactions and experience-sharing moments are powerful drivers of skill development.
Communities by Extia: whether cross-functional (well-being, sports, soft skills, green initiatives) or technical (business expertise), our learning communities bring together experienced engineers and young talents. Nearly **100 events **take place every year to bring this knowledge-sharing network to life.
Mentoring: to ensure a concrete and direct transfer of expertise, we have created a mentoring programme allowing our senior consultants to support more junior profiles. It is a great way to build strong connections and share valuable knowledge.
Continuous improvement through feedback: dedicated moments of exchange, such as Career Reviews and Annual Reviews, allow us to jointly identify Extiens’ development needs in terms of personal growth and coaching.
Theoretical training (10%): accessible and limitless learning
The remaining 10% of our approach is based on continuous and easy access to high-quality learning resources.
Unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning: our employees benefit from a catalogue of more than 20,000 on-demand courses. It is the perfect format to strengthen advanced technical skills or develop soft skills at their own pace.
RUBIX, our multi-channel training offer: launched in 2015, this programme brings together certified training courses, business academies, as well as onboarding and management development programmes. For example, 60% of our workforce completed at least one training course in 2025.
An internal trainer network: the expertise of our teams is celebrated through a network of 30 passionate employee trainers, always ready to share their knowledge and experience.
